To ensure the best results and your utmost comfort, we provide you with a comprehensive guide on what to expect before, during, and after your CoolSculpting® sessions.
CoolSculpting® Pre-Treatment Instructions:

Before your CoolSculpting® session, we kindly request that you follow these essential steps:
Wear Comfortable Clothing: Arrive at your appointment in loose and comfortable clothing to facilitate ease during the procedure.
Stay Hydrated: Proper hydration is vital. Please ensure you are well-hydrated before your treatment session.
Prepare Your Skin: The area(s) to be treated should be clean and free from any cuts, wounds, or lesions.
Remove Jewelry: For your safety and comfort, please remove all jewelry or piercings from the area(s) undergoing treatment.
Pregnancy Precaution: CoolSculpting® is not recommended for pregnant individuals.
Photographs and Weight: We may take photos and record your weight before the first session for pre- and post-treatment comparisons.
Additional Recommendations for Your Comfort:
For your added comfort, we suggest:
Bringing a spare set of clothes, as the gel pads applied with the applicator may make your clothes damp. We also provide disposable garments if you don’t have an extra set.
Having a light meal before your session, as some patients (in rare cases) may experience slight nausea at the beginning of treatment.
Bringing entertainment, such as a mobile device or a book, to enjoy during the session.
What to Expect During a Treatment Session:
During your CoolSculpting® session, you can anticipate the following:
Duration: The session may take anywhere from 35 minutes to a few hours, depending on the number and size of the treatment areas.
Comfort: No topical anesthetic or pain medication is required. Initially, you may feel sensations like pulling, tugging, pinching, stinging, tingling, aching, or cramping as the applicator draws in fatty tissue. These sensations typically subside as the area becomes numb, making the rest of the session more comfortable.
Immediate Aftercare:
Immediately after your CoolSculpting® session:
You can resume your daily activities right away.
Some patients may experience brief tingling or stinging sensations.
Stiffness and transient blanching (temporary whitening of the skin) in the treated area(s) may occur.
Slight nausea or dizziness may be experienced briefly as your body readjusts to its natural warmth and sensation.
Redness in the treated area(s) may persist for a few hours after the applicator is removed.
Any bruising, swelling, numbness, and tenderness will typically resolve within two weeks.
Weeks Following Treatment:
In the weeks following your CoolSculpting® treatment:
The treated area(s) may feel slightly bloated or swollen initially.
Temporary dullness in sensation is possible for several weeks.
Some patients may experience itching, tingling, numbness, tenderness to the touch, pain, cramping, diarrhea, muscle spasms, aching, or soreness in the first two weeks post-treatment. If these symptoms persist or worsen, please contact our office.
Gradual reduction in fat layer thickness will occur as the body processes and eliminates the treated fat cells. You may start to notice changes as early as three weeks after your last session, with full results becoming evident between one to four months.
CoolSculpting® Post-Care & Long-Term Maintenance:
We recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment around three months after each treatment session to review your results and determine if further treatments are needed for optimal fat reduction.
After completing your treatment package and achieving the desired results, it’s essential to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen. This helps prevent remaining fat cells from enlarging.
